Rostom Sipan Bagdasarian (January 27, 1919 - January 16, 1972), better known by his stage name Dave Seville, was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and record producer, best known as the creator of the cartoon band Alvin & the Chipmunks. His greatest hits include "Witch Doctor" and "The Chipmunks Song".

Ross died of a heart attack on January 16, 1972 (aged 52). His body was cremated at the Chapel of the Pines Crematory in Los Angeles.

Upon his father's death, Ross D. became the new manager of the Chipmunks franchise, along with his wife Janice Karman.
